| Native American Art and Culture is one of the titles in Raintree's World Art and Culture Series. The book is a basic introduction to the arts of Native Americans for senior elementary and secondary school students. The book contains numerous illustrations of arts of the past as well as contemporary arts. The book is organized into twelve chapters that describe the arts and cultural traditions across North America. Following the introduction about the diversity of cultures in North American the book covers Beliefs and Traditions; Rock Art; Land Art; Architecture; Body Art; Clothing and Decoration; Carving; Pottery; Textiles; Painting; and Ceremonies, Songs and Dances. Each chapter has a two or four page spread about the topic and provides examples, captioned photos, and information boxes. The book has a map of North America and the location of the main Nations described, as well as a chronology, index, and suggested websites and places to find additional information.
