Welcome to British North America is a six volume set of 32-page books written by Heather Hudak for Beech Street Books. Designed for elementary students from grades 3 to 6 the books offer introductions to the history of British North America. Daily Life in British North America introduces readers to the everyday activities of the First Nations of Turtle Island as well as the European settlers dwelling within the lands that would become known as Canada. Topics covered in this volume include living in British North America; land settlement; building communities; fishing and farming; women and children; and what settlers wore. Each volume has a glossary of terms; suggested references; and an index. The book contains simply written text illustrated with maps, charts, contemporary photographs and paintings.
