Sitting By The Rapids is a slim volume of engaging poetry by Albert Dumont. He is Spiritual Advisor, Algonquin, Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg and since 2016 he has served his community as one of 13 Elders on the Elders Advisory Committee of the Ministry of the Attorney General. In recognition for his work as an activist and volunteer on his ancestral lands (Ottawa and Region) Albert was presented with a Human Rights Award by the Public Service Alliance of Canada in 2010.

This 25-page illustrated book features the story about the Maple Leaves and why they turn colour every autumn in Algonquin, English, and French. This story explains how the maple leaves turn into bright reds, oranges, and yellows every fall. The story begins with the green maple leaves complaining how boring their leaves appear.
Broad Winged Hawk: A Book of Poetry and Short Stories is a collection of short stories, editorials, and poems by Kitigan Zibi Algonquin writer Albert Dumont. The book is organized into themes that focus on personal healing issues as well as the seasons, residential schools, honouring veterans, challenging racism, respect, women, and love. Of particular note is a short drama called The Canoe where a mean-spirited teacher challenges the First Nation boy's identity and attempts to humiliate him in a classroom of non-Native students.
