Description: Reflecting the theme of the OLA Super Conference 2022: Gather / Se rassembler, this session, A Gathering of Voices, will reflect on Indigenous Authors and Illustrators from across Turtle Island, while also drawing on the OLA Super Conference 2022 themes of sharing knowledges and wisdoms. This presentation discusses how Indigenous storytelling and literature encompasses oral traditions, expressions, and languages to reflect culture. Our approach references the UNDRIP and the TRC Calls to Action. This presentation will highlight the Indigenous stories and information in our libraries, in our schools and in our communities through the three R’s: Respect, Responsibility, and Relationships. Presenter David Anderson, Indigenous Education Consultant.
