NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM GOODMINDS Oji-Cree and Ojibway Children's Songs is a collection of 13 children's songs in Ojibwe and Oji-Cree published by the Ojibway and Cree Cultural Centre. This 28-page book is accompanied by a CD with the 13 songs sung in Ojibwe or Oji-Cree. This resource was developed for the use of Early Childhood educators and Primary division programs. The lyrics are printed in English and syllabics. The songs include well-known favourites such as Brother John, If You're Happy and You Know It, and the Hello song. Other songs include Days of the Week, Little Bear, Who Am I?, and I'm Happy. Each translator of the song is identified and acknowledged. This resource is an excellent way to introduce students to the Ojibwe and Oji-Cree languages. Each of the contributors to the book and CD are Native language teachers or Kindergarten teachers.
