Siku & Kamik Like to Play is a Level 6 reader in the Nunavummi Reading Series from Inhabit Education. This is a unique Nunavut-made levelled reading series that aligns the reading expectations of the Inuit language, English, and French. The reading series corresponds closely to the reading levels and expectations developed by the Department of Education in Nunavut. This approach to literacy provides educators and parents the tools they need to ensure that children are equally challenged and successful in all the languages represented in Nunavut. This Level 6 book is designed for the grade one level reader attending Arctic region education facilities. In this book two dog friends like to play. This is the repetitive sentence as the friends roll, jump, dig, run, catch, pull, and when the friends are tired they like to sleep.  Colour cartoon-like drawings show the pair enjoying their time outdoors in winter snow and finally the dogs are sleeping indoors. This 8-page book designed for early to middle grade 1 reader has two sentences per page with supportive images to assist the reader decode the meaning of the sentence.  This leveled reader is Level 6 and has a text identified as Fountas & Pinnell Level: C.
