Susan Verde is an author and she also teaches kids yoga and mindfulness. Steph Littlebird is an enrolled member of Oregon’s Grand Ronde Confederated Tribes. She is an artist, author, curator, and earned her BFA. in Painting and Printmaking from the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) in Portland, Oregon. She currently lives and works in the Pacific Northwest. Steph Littlebird is known for her vibrant graphic imagery that combines traditional styles of her Indigenous ancestors with contemporary illustration aesthetics. Her work often examines issues related to Native identity, cultural resilience, and responsible land stewardship. Her first children’s book My Powerful Hair (2023) made in collaboration with NYT bestselling Indigenous author Carole Lindstrom, earned the 2024 Carter G. Woodson Book Award.
