My Little Brother, Level 8 is a book that uses a repeating sentence structure to help children follow the humorous family story, and will help children understand the concept of changing family roles. This 20-page leveled reader is part of Inhabit Education's new series Nunavummi Reading. Big Sister is learning what it’s like when Little Brother isn’t so little anymore! The repeating sentence, my brother isn't much of a baby anymore, is followed by a variety of activities that demonstrate he is no longer a baby and the love between the two is now expressed. Level 8 titles are usually 12 to 24 pages in length, with one to three sentences per page. At this level, the text introduces dialogue that is indicated by the word said. The full-colour illustrations provide support but additional details are found in the text. Inhabit Education has produced an excellent reading series that appeals to southern and northern elementary students and reading teachers.
