Jody Wilson-Raybould
Jody Wilson-Raybould is a descendant of the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk and Laich-Kwil-Tach peoples, which are part of the Kwakwaka’wakw and also known as the Kwak’wala-speaking peoples. She is a member of the We Wai Kai Nation. Her traditional name, Puglaas, means “woman born to noble people.” She is the former federal Justice Minister and Attorney General. She has been an active member of the BC Bar Association since 2000 and was a provincial Crown prosecutor in Vancouver’s downtown eastside until 2003. In 2003 she was an elected Commissioner to the BC Treaty Commission (2003-2009) and in 2009 was elected a Regional Chief of the BC Assembly of First Nations.
