Changing Lives: Women in Northern Ontario is a collection of 29 essays and presentations about the lives of women in northern Ontario. Of particular interest is the insightful interview between Eva Pelletier Solomon and her daughter Theresa Solomon-Gravel, Nokomis and the Changing Times in her Life: Interview with a Woman Elder. Women of Quiet Strength: Nishnaabe-kwek Mothers and Daughters by Mary Ann Corbiere and Sheila Hardy examines the responses of eight Ojibwe-Odawa women from two generations regarding their views on childhood, significant events and influences, goals, values, and roles. The role of economic development is discussed by Dawn Madahbee. Women and Distance Education discusses women and post-secondary education in Anne-Marie Mawhiney's and Ross Paul's paper. Although this publication is dated 1996, the Aboriginal content remains an important contribution to literature about First Nations women's experiences and issues in northern Ontario.
