Sandra Samatte
Sandra Samatte is Ojibwe and a member of the Skownan First Nation Reserve, Treaty 2 Territory. She has a Bachelor of Education Degree, is an author and currently works at Indigenous Education Press. Sandra has committed her personal and career aspirations to the enhancement of First Nations education and the well-being of First Nations children. Sandra is grateful for the strong, lasting relationships she has built with the many children, parents and families during her 20 years in teaching. The focus of her career is creating and implementing resources that allow teachers to gain a better understanding of the needs for First Nations Education and how to best implement these teachings in our classrooms in a way that is respectful, culturally appropriate and hold cultural integrity. Sandra is honoured and embraces every opportunity she is given to utilize her innovation and experience to contribute to our First Nations communities.
