In Trust Your Name, Bobby and Cherokee Johnny are Cherokee Panthers and friends with Lloyd, also a Panthers basketball player. When coach Robinson announces that he will coaching a Choctaw Nation team, Bobby and Cherokee Johnny jump at the chance to play in the summer basketball season, along with Mato, Eddie, Greg, Les and Ryan their new Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Creek and Lakota team mates, and other Panthers. Forming the Achukma, meaning good, the players spend time playing basketball and getting to know how each player’s strengths fit into their team. When they play a team from another town, they confront racism and their championship is at stake. Family, friends and coaches huddle round to help the players attend the championship.Includes author information. Reading Level: 2.5
