This book is published by TakingITGlobal Connected North program in partnership with Indigenous Artist and Visual Story Teller, Nyle Johnston of Miigizi Creations. The purpose of the project is to support students and educators in the process of understanding the Anishinaabe Nation, strengthening identity and culture, Ojibwe language revitalization and community development. This book increases awareness of how we may walk alongside our animal brothers and sisters fostering sustainability, reciprocity, and respect for our shared mother, Earth. This children and youth book of 81 line drawings of animals and plant medicine is part of Ojibwe language and education resource materials in Ojibwe and English. There are questions, ideas for Connecting with Our First Family with the text and in the community, extending number learning, extending animal learning, and resources and further reading. There is an accompanying deck of cards and colouring book sold separately. Highly recommended as teaching and learning resource.
