Written by Staci Lola Drouillard, a Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe direct descendant. She lives and works in her hometown of Kitchibitobig—Grand Marais, on Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior. Illustrated by Tashia Hart is a writer and artist from the Red Lake Nation of Anishinaabe in northern Minnesota.

George Morrison, a skilled Ojibwe artist, grew up on the shores of Lake Superior, and by the age of nine was known for his drawing and creative talents. He graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and went on to create paintings and sculptures that were exhibited in galleries nationally. One of his sculptures was installed at the White House. From painting to traveling and teaching other artists, learn all about the life of modernist artist Morrison.
